The architecture of Lucknow is an example of 18th and 19th century India. The Nawabs of Awadh who ruled from this city built many splendid structures mainly kothis (villas), imambaras (building where Muharram is commemorated), and Karbalas (shrines, burial places). This book elaborated on the history of the city, its various monuments and specially the Imambara complexes. The text has been elucidated with drawings, Hindi text by Ashutosh Shukla and beautiful photographs by Anil Mehrotta.
